Activity Guide
The Languages Work Activity Guide provides
advice, information and support for anyone who wants to inspire
students to think seriously about careers in languages and may be
thinking of using the suite of Languages Work resources to do
so.
Written for use by teachers, careers advisers, foreign language
assistants, external industry representatives or language student
‘ambassadors’, it includes tailored notes for these users.
The guide presents ideas for presentations and activities which
make the most of the full range of Languages Work materials, and
are suitable for a variety of situations: in a school assembly, as
part of a careers event, during options events or in class. It also
offers advice on encouraging students to engage independently with
both print and web-based media.
There is also more general advice on engaging parents,
presenting to audiences of different sizes and dealing with
frequently asked questions.
Whether you are a careers adviser, languages teacher, a business
speaker or a volunteer helping to promote languages the
Activity guide is an invaluable resource to help you use
the range of Languages work materials to their maximum
potential.
